The Cuban Revolution brought an end to the cruel dictator ship of Fulgencio Batista. Here, Batista warmly welcomes U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt

The Cuban Revolution was the movement that brought Communist Fidel Castro into power by taking down the rule of dictator Batista. It was fought for two years in the hills of Cuba with the help of a broad coalition and the Cuban people.

It was only after Fidel got to power when he declared himself a Communist and unveiled his plan for a Soviet-like state for Cuba. Many of his former followers had to flee to Miami and organize there a resistance against the newly Marxist dictatorship.

Among the most famous people who fought this revolution is Argentinean doctor and adventurer Che Guevara.
