Ancient history can be defined as all that happened from the beginning of writing until AD 600. Ancient history described creation of many civilizations and revealed many great intellectual breakthroughs. Advances in literature, drama, mathematics, philosophy, and language are just a few of the things which the ancient peoples passed on to succeeding generations.

Two of the mightiest ancient civilisations of the past have been Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.
