  • Inflation is a general rise in the price of goods and services in relation to purchasing power.

This is a Keynesian definition, probably written by Prof. Jensen.

"a general rise in prices" over time can be caused by the natural trends of economic growth - population growth, labor force growth, greater output and greater demand, whereas inflation is cheating, a governmental sleight of hand to monetize and devalue its debt for past spending. Beware of this deceptive rhetoric, as the Democrats take us back on the road to hell. Inflation is not just, or not all, rising prices; legitimate consumer demand can cause rising prices, for example the higher prices you pay for the latest Apple iPhone. Inflation is fraud emanating from the U.S. Congress. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 05:12, January 4, 2022 (EST)

For example, note only communists and Keynesians use this term, "purchasing power"; normal economists seldom use that phrase, and in virtually all cases to respond to flaws of Keynesian and Marxist economics. If you hear a so-called expert on CNBC or somewhere talking about "purchasing power" and inflation, run for the exits and don't drink the kool-aid. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 05:30, January 4, 2022 (EST)

How Ukraine aid caused inflation

To give the novice reader some idea what inflation is (i.e. its cause) and how it works, one needs to only examine Ukraine aid. The United States, with a population of 330 million, has contributed $350 Billion. Europe, with a population 530 million (60% more) at best has contributed not quite $200 Billion (40% less). Both the US & EU have the same median income of a little more than $19,000. Europe however, now does not have the funds to continue the war.

How is it that (a) the US could contribute more over the past 4 years, given the same median income, and (b) Europe cannot continue to contribute even with a 60% higher population of taxpayers? Answer: Inflation. The consumer in the US and elsewhere absorbs the excess government spending through a higher cost of living, i.e. inflation produced on the government-run printing press.

With the US dollar as the global reserve currency, European powers do not have the same luxury of their governments running the printing press, i.e. creating money, or so-called "wealth" out of thin air, rather than the traditional means by labor. And Ukraine has all the cash to spend as it pleases, i.e. to buy weapons from the US or Europe with the money that is not paid out to keep their civil service system operating and/or is not siphoned off in corrupt schemes. This is what the MSM & Biden regime call "democracy" in the 21st century.

So the next time you complain about paying $4 for large fries at McDonalds, think about what prompted you to put that blue & yellow emoji on your twitter account. What have we got for our half trillion dollar investment, other than more than one million dead and new ways invented to kill each other? RobSZelensky Must Go! 02:22, December 1, 2025 (EST)
