Information pollution refers to the contamination of an information supply with irrelevant, redundant, unsolicited, and low-value information. Common examples include misinformation, junk email, and media violence. It can also be described as low-quality, distracting, or incorrect information that negatively impacts knowledge and quality of life, with examples such as spam and poor-quality content.
