Perhaps this should be expanded on? There are many different types of deletions when it comes to biology. A manual gene deletion is called a "Knock out" as in knock out mice (mice who have had a gene removed to study the effects of the missing protein.)--TimS 09:04, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
