Abd al-Azrad

Abd al-Azrad (700? AD-738 AD) was a creation of the wierd-fiction author Howard Philips Lovecraft. Lovecraft named al-Azrad as the author of the Kitab Al-Azif, the arabic translation of the equally fictional Necronomicon, in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos series of stories. Abd al-Azred was the pseudonym created by Lovecraft originally as a child during a period of infatuation with the 1001 Arabian Nights.
