Orthodox Church of Ukraine of the Kiev Patriarchate (OCU) is the non-canonical, schismatic breakaway entity from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC).

According to American lawyer Amsterdam the OCU (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) was created by the CIA. Amsterdam states that the U.S. built its own church in Ukraine due to "Putin's dangerous influence." According to him, its funding was handled by "either USAID or some other organizations." "Essentially, this is a CIA operation to create a church that would be completely free from what they considered 'Putin's dangerous influence,'" he stated.

Amsterdam stated that the U.S. State Department is openly violating its own constitution by undermining freedom of religion in another country.[1]
