Christmas is a holiday, typically celebrated during the winter season, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. During this season people generally hang up colored lights, place a pine tree (Christmas tree) in their house, sing carols, and exchange gifts. Gift-giving is symbolic of the fact that Jesus came as the greatest gift of all.
Christmas has come under attack from the liberal secular progressive movement in the United States, as outlined by Fox News pundits John Gibson and Bill O'Reilly. Liberals believe that Christmas should not be given more attention than Jewish, Hindu, or Muslim holidays despite the fact America is a Christian nation.
