The Antarctic Peninsula, O'Higgins Land or Palmer Peninsula is a peninsula on the Antarctic continent. It's the location of a lot of research stations because of its unique location, it forms the northernmost part of mainland Antarctica. The Palmer Archipelago is a group of islands off the coast of the peninsula, the American Palmer Station is located on Antwerp Island. Belgian explorer Adrian de Gerlache discovered the archipelago in 1898.[1]
