In Genesis, Esau (Hebrew: עֵשָׂו ), was the eldest son of Isaac and Rebekah and the twin brother of Jacob in the Bible. Esau is the ancestor of the Edomites, a Semitic people that resided mainly in Aravah and the Negev Desert. He sold his birthright to Jacob for a single meal.
