Deion Branch
Deion Branch is a National Football League wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. He was born on July 18, 1979 in Albany, Georgia. Branch is 5'9" and weighs 193 pounds.
High School Football
Branch attended,[1] Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia. One of his teammates was current NFL wide receiver Javon Walker[2].
College Football
From 2000 through 2001, Branch attended the University of Louisville (UL) after transferring from Jones County Junior College (in Ellisville, Mississippi) in 1999. He was very productive at the wide receiver position for both schools. In his freshman season at Jones County Junior College he caught 37 passes for 639 yards (17.7 avg) and five touchdowns. He improved upon those numbers in his sophomore year when he hauled in a total of 69 passes for 1,012 yards (14.7 avg) and nine touchdowns.
Following his sophomore season he transfered to the University of Louisville and had an a immediate impact on the college's football team. In his 2000 junior season, starting in 10 games, he led the Cardinals (UL football team), with 71 receptions for 1,016 yards (14.3 avg) and nine touchdowns. For his successful season, he was voted the team's Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Offensive Performer. The next season, his senior year, he almost repeated his 2000 production as he once again led the team in both receiving yards and receptions as he caught 72 passes for 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also named a team captain in 2001.
Branch finished his playing time at the University of Louisville with 143 receptions for 2,204 yards (15.4 avg) and 18 touchdowns. He ranks sixth all time in total receptions (143), forth in receiving yards (2,204) and receiving touchdowns (18) for University of Louisville[3].
