Richard Gere (b. 1949) is a Hollywood actor, known primarily for his leading-man good looks and his ultra-liberal political activism. Despite his marriage to model Cindy Crawford, there have been persistent rumors about his alleged homosexuality.
In April 2007, authorities in India issued an order for his arrest for committing an obscene act in public during an AIDS awareness event, namely, making an unwelcome sexual advance on a Bollywood collegue.
