An endogen is a plant having a primary stem with vascular bundles that are not arranged in concentric circles, and that have older stems lacking distinct wood and bark layers. The endogens constitute one of the great primary classes of plants, and include all palms, true lilies, grasses, rushes, orchids, the banana, and the pineapple.[1]
