Heaven Can Wait (1978) was a phenomenally successful movie about angels and a football player who wants to win a championship, but is taken from this world prematurely. On a production budget of only $6 million, it had box office revenues of $98.8 million.
In an example of Worst Liberal Snubs, this movie was nominated for nine mostly major Oscars and yet was awarded only one minor one.[1]
