Fort Bend County is the 10th largest county in Texas, and it is one of the most diverse counties in the nation. This county is the suburban area of Houston.

Politics

Fort Bend County was once solidly Republican, and in 2016 it was a swing county. In 2020, the county was won by Joe Biden by well over double-digits,[1] and now the county's judge, and his Commissioners Court increased tax rates, since he acts as commissioner, even though he is a judge, as that is law in Texas counties.[2] (Note that in Fort Bend County's commissioners courts, there are 4 commissioners (2 are Republican, 2 are Democrat), plus the judge (Democrat) himself.)

Harris County Influence

Many people from Democrat Harris County, or Houston, especially L. Sarah DeMerchant, moved to Fort Bend County just to run for office, in order to influence elections.
