Mean is the average of a group of numbers. To find the mean, the numbers are added and divided by the quantity of numbers in the group. For example: to find the mean of 3, 4, 6, and 7, we add them together: <math>3 + 4 + 6 + 7 = 20</math>. Then we divide them by the quantity of numbers in the group, which is 4. <math>20/4 = 5</math>.
