Chip Cravaack (born January 29, 1959, in Charleston, West Virginia), a Republican, was U.S. Representative from Minnesota's 8th congressional district for one term (2011–2013). A retired United States Naval Reserve captain, he defeated 18-year Democratic incumbent and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Jim Oberstar in the 2010 election.
