Teen abortion is often the most damaging type of abortion, because it can render the woman infertile for life. She may never be able to have another child.
Teen abortion also significantly increases the woman's risk of breast cancer later in life.
Statistically, "Teenagers obtain 20% and girls under 15 account for 1.2%" of all abortions.[1]
A lack of abstinence education is a common cause of teen pregnancy, which often leads to teen abortion.
