Race and intelligence

Race and intelligence were believed to be related in the pre-scientific era of psychology that was marred by racism in general and Eugenics in particular. It was only in the 1960s and 1980s that scientists began to separate out cultural artifacts, realizing that all people are actually endowed with intelligence unrelated to skin color. Factors causing differences in academic achievement and IQ scores were found to be mostly cultural (see Expectancy theory).
