Faith is a concept common to many religions that means trust or complete confidence in something unseen. The term lacks a precise definition. In English the word comes from the Latin word "fidere", meaning "to trust".
The concept of faith exists in all other major religions. While faith is mentioned in the New Testament, the Old Testament, and the Koran (Islam). Faith is also a part of all "old earth" religions, which pre-date most modern belief systems.
