Berries are a class of tightly packed fruits containing many small seeds. They are usually sweet and edible, though some varieties are poisonous to humans, such as the holly berry. These same berries are not all poisonous to other mammals and birds that enjoy berries.

Fruit are commonly used to flavor a variety of desserts, from pies to yogurt. Most berries are indigenous to the Eurasian supercontinent. Berries are high in vitamin C. The berryfarming agri-industry is sensitive to increases in minimum wage because berries must be hand-picked.
