The Labor Party of Israel is the main center-left socialist party in Israel, founded in 1992 as a result of the merger of the old Alignment and Rafi parties. Notable members of the Labor Party include former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, and Ehud Barak. The party's current leader is Avi Gabbay.[1]
In the 2015 legislative election, the Labor Party joined with Hatnuah to form a joint electoral list called Zionist Union. The alliance won 24 seats in the Knesset.[2]
