Ipso facto is a Latin phrase most often used in jurisprudence and Law which translates as "by the very fact". For example: "Having fur and a tail, ipso facto he is an animal." Another example: "Her confession does not ipso facto prove her guilt."

A more colloquial expression for ipso facto is "automatically means".
