Robert Oscar Lopez

Robert Oscar Lopez (born 1971) is a conservative Professor of Humanities at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was previously Professor of English Literature and Classics at California State University at Northridge (CSUN). He is the author of The Colourful Conservative, Johnson Park, The Melvile Affair and Gay Wars, and the co-editor of Jephthah's Children: The Innocent Casualties of Same-Sex Parenting, to which he is also a leading contributor.^[1]

Lopez, an accomplished linguist and academic star, was driven out of his academic post at CSUN on specious grounds after an organized campaign to oust him because of his open opposition to same-sex marriage and championship of children's rights in preference to homosexual demands. Even the pro-gay and left-wing Huffington Post published an article admitting that Lopez had been the victim of an unjust campaign by the homosexual ideologues controlling academia, and that this was a serious violation of intellectual freedom and the democratic right to dissent.^[2]

Lopez's response was to write Wackos Thugs & Perverts: Clintonian Decadence in Academia, in 2017, in which he tracks the loss of intellectual freedom in U.S. academia under the control of a narrow atheist, leftwing, monoculture dedicated to supposedly progressive and supposedly egalitarian ideologies.

Of Puerto-Rican descent and brought up by his lesbian mother, Lopez grew up believing he was homosexual because he was surrounded by homosexual men who abused him in many ways. He has written two novels about his early experience in the "gay" community. He later changed his mind about his sexuality, and became convinced that a child benefits from having a parent of both sexes, wherever possible; and that to deliberately deprive them of this is a violation of the child's rights. Now married with a child, he is opposed to commercial surrogacy, commercial adoption, and same-sex parenting. He has founded the International Children's Rights Institute, of which he is currently President.

In 2012, he submitted an Amicus Brief to the U.S. Senate against same-sex marriage, arguing from his personal experience that it is a grave disadvantage to children and exposes them to risk.

In 2013, Lopez was invited to France to campaign with the pro-family organization La Manif Pour Tous.

The book Jephthah's Children presents evidence and testimonies from people brought up by homosexual or transsexual parents, who experienced it as a profound disadvantage and a form of child abuse. Many were neglected, sexually abused or forced to act as mascots for the LGBT agenda. Others simply relate that it gave them emotional difficulties, and there was huge pressure to become homosexual. Dr. Lopez has worked closely with many other children of homosexual parents worldwide, such as Brittany Klein and is credited with inventing the acronym COG i.e. Children of Gays.

He writes the "English Manif" blogsite, which links to the European-wide pro-family movement La Manif Pour Tous.^[3][4][5]
