Saturday is the seventh day of the week. The name is derived from the word for one Roman god, Saturn.
Jews and some Christians (notably Seventh-Day Adventists) consider Saturday to be the day of the Sabbath. Due to the long timespan since the commandment was given to Moses, the correct day is no longer known with certainty.
