Babur (1483-1530; reigned 1526-1530), full birth name Ẓahīr-ud-Dīn Muhammad was the founder of the Mughal Empire in northern India. Babur was born in the city of Andijan of the Timurid Empire, now modern-day Uzbekistan. He was descended from both Tamerlane and Genghis Khan. In 1526 he captured Delhi. On his death in 1530 he was succeeded by his son Humayun.[1]
