Marc Kasowitz

Marc Elliot Kasowitz (born June 28, 1952) is an American trial lawyer and partner of the New York City-based law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres.

Kasowitz was born in New Haven, Connecticut and is of Polish decent. He attended the Hopkins Grammar School in New Haven. He graduated from Yale College cum laude with a B.A. in American history. In 1977, he earned a Juris Doctor from Cornell University, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review.

Upon graduation, Kasowitz passed the New York bar exam and joined the Mayer, Brown & Platt law firm. In 1993 Kasowitz, 18 lawyers and two clients left Mayer Brown to establish the Kasowitz Benson Torres law firm.[1][2]

Kasowitz has represented Bill O'Reilly and Donald Trump. Additionally, Kasowitz represents a company run by a Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who is a very close associate of Vladimir Putin and who employed Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort for several years.[3]
