"Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" was a popular song during World War Two, sung by the Andrews Sisters and by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. It was written by Lew Brown, Sam Stept, and Charlie Tobias, who based it on the tune of "Long,
Long Ago" by T.H. Bayly.[1] The Andrews Sisters sang it in the 1942 film Private Buckaroo.[2] The song was very popular in its encouragement of fidelity from a lover overseas.[3]
