"Down by the Riverside" is an American folk song and African-American spiritual song, also called "(Ain't Gonna) Study War No More". It had been recorded by Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Sweet Honey and the Rock.[1] It originated sometime before the Civil War, but was not published until 1918.[2]
