DNA replication

DNA replication is the process by which the DNA double helix unwinds and makes an exact copy of itself. The Meselson–Stahl experiment suggested that DNA replicates semiconservatively. In the semiconservative mode of replication the original DNA molecules separate into two template strands.[1]
