Quintus Ennius (239 - 169 BC) was a Roman poet whose best-known work the Annales gives the history of Rome from the fall of Troy until his own times.

The Annales was the national poem of the Roman Republic until the time of Virgil and his composition of the Aeneid[1]

Only 600 lines of the poem have survived.
