Thomas Pepper Johnson (born July 29, 1964) is a Defensive Line coach for the New England Patriots. Prior to being hired as a Patriots coach he was a National Football League linebacker for the New York Giants (1986-1992), Cleveland Browns (1993-1995), Detroit Lions (1996) and New York Jets (1997-1998). In his NFL career he made 1,200 tackles, 25.5 sacks, forced 12 fumbles, recovered eight, and intercepted 14 passes. He was voted to the Pro Bowl twice and was a key member of two Super Bowl winning teams in his twelve-year NFL career. He entered the NFL in 1986 when he was selected in the second round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
