Oborona (Russian: Оборона, defense) is a nonviolent, pro-democracy youth activist movement in Russia. They were founded in 2005, and have taken strong opposition to the authoritarian policies of President Vladimir Putin. They strive for a free, democratic Russia.
They were inspired by the Orange Revolution of Ukraine in 2004.
