Karl Strecker

General Karl Strecker was born in Radmansdorf, Germany in 1884. He served in the German Army in World War I. He rejoined the German Army in 1935 and gained the rank of General. In 1942 during World War II he led the German XI Army Corps at the Battle of Stalingrad. On February 2, 1943, Strecker was the last German general to surrender to the Red Army at Stalingrad. He died in 1973.
