Daniel David "D.D." Palmer was an American physician known for founding chiropractic medicine and performing the first chiropractic adjustment. His new methodology was quickly criticized by allopathic physicians, many of whom were concerned about losing money. He and his early followers were frequently accused of practicing medicine without a license. He also founded the first chiropractic school, known today as the Palmer College of Chiropractic.
