Shell

Shell has multiple meanings. The most common use in in biology, where a shell is a tough, multilayered structure secreted by the mantle. It is usually used for protection, but sometimes for body support.[1]
Meaning of Shell in Weaponry
- Shell (projectile), an explosive device fired from artillery such as a mortar
- Shotgun shell, the common name among gun enthusiasts for shotgun ammunition including both slugs and buckshot
