Sebastian de Belalcazar was a Spanish Conquistador who lived from 1495-1551. He served under Pedro Arias Davila In an successful effort to conquer Nicaragua in 1524. Then in 1531, he sailed with Francisco Pizarro in an expedition in Peru, and personally led an expedition which conquered Ecuador.
