Lebensraum was a German word made popular by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, which literally means "living space". Lebensraum is the policy of expanding Germany to the east in search of a unity between the German Volk and the land (the Nazi concept of Blood and Soil). Under Hitler's rule, the Nazis modified theory of Lebensraum became Germany's foreign policy during the [[Third Reich].
