Poi

Poi is the term used to refer to the traditional martial dance of the Māori people in New Zealand. Such martial ceremonies were known as firedances. Traditionally, those who were proficient in poi were seen as more desirable, with the best performers being revered as minor gods according to the local religion.[1]
