Rose McConnell Long

Rose McConnell Long (April 8, 1892 – May 27, 1970) was the wife of populist Democrat Louisiana governor Huey Pierce Long, succeeding him in the Senate as an interim after his assassination. She declined to run for a full term and the seat was won by segregationist Allen J. Ellender of Terrebonne Parish.
