Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal civil rights law enabling parents of a disabled child to obtain reimbursement for special education of their child, sometimes even including reimbursement for private school tuition.

This law has generated enormous litigation as parents understandably seek greater benefits for their children beyond ordinary public school education.
