Felony

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by AliceBG (Talk | contribs) at 01:22, March 7, 2008. It may differ significantly from current revision.

A felony is considered to be a serious type of crime generally punishable in the United States by one year or more in prison or by death. Murder, for instance, would be a felony.

Note, however, that many new crimes are also felonies. For example, in some cases draining water from your property without a government permit or removing asbestos from your home without government authorization may be a felony.
