Derek Jeter has been the starting shortstop for the New York Yankees since 1996, the seven time all star has won the American League Rookie of the Year Award, the All-Star Game MVP Award, the World Series MVP Award, a Silver Slugger Award and three Gold Glove Awards. His .317 lifetime batting average is the sixth highest among all players ever playing the sport.
