Ukrainian Kozak Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky with Bulawa

The bulawa or bulava (Polish: buława, Ukrainian: булава) is a Polish and Ukrainian ceremonial symbol of authority. It is like a baton. It was carried by the Hetmans, who were high-ranking military officers.
