Intelligence Directorate (Dirección de Inteligencia or DI) is the foreign intelligence agency of Cuba. It was established in late 1961.[1] DI has six divisions divided into two categories: the Operational Divisions and the Support Divisions.[1] The operational divisions consists of the political and economic intelligence division, the external counterintelligence division, and the military intelligence division.[1] The political and economic intelligence division is divided into four sections: Eastern Europe, North America, Western Europe, and Africa-Asia-Latin America.[1] The external counterintelligence division is responsible for infiltrating foreign intelligence services and the surveillance of exiles.[1]
