An atom is the smallest unit chemical matter in creation. There have been many ideas about how atoms may look. The current one is called the Quantum Mechanical Model, and is very complex.

Atomic theory, like evolution, is just a theory. While orthodox scientists have almost universally accepted the quantum mechanical model, despite its flaws, there are many scientists who dissent. Like creationists, these dissenting scientists are forcefully kept out of the peer-reviewed scientific journals by secularists.
