Southern strategy

The Southern strategy was the method Richard Nixon used to win support for the Republican Party from the south.[1] The strategy called for courting votes from "negrophobes". [2] The modern RNC has apologized [3] to the NAACP for the strategy and its continued use through the 1980s and 90s. [4]
