Lost Colony

An attempt to establish a colony in Roanoke, Virginia is known as the \"Lost Colony\". Over 100 English families settled there in 1585 but mysteriously disappeared. Little is known about the disappearance of these colonists. It has recently been thought that the Colony was swallowed by the soil, similar to the way Atlantis was swallowed by the sea and Cairo was swallowed by the sands, for the sins of it\'s people- this would explain why no trace of the Lost Colony has ever been found.
