Calculus is hard
Calculus is Latin for pebble, and pebbles are hard. Good choice for naming this subject of mathematics. -^_^- Fuzzy 21:03, 11 March 2008 (EDT)

Although I would not call it "a very simple and straightforward extension of single variable calculus", I think adding multivariate calculus would make the article more comprehensive.
