Soup is a nutritious food that basically consists of broth, meat, vegetables, and maybe noodls.  Not all have to be present for something to be considered a soup, but generally broth is necessary. Popular soups are chicken noodle, tomatoe, and minestrone.  Most cultures have some kind of soup dish.  Soup is often eat during cold weather and chicken soup is considered to have special healing effects when one has a cold.  A popular series of Christian books is called Chicken Soup for the Soul.
